Greetings, and thank you for visiting my website.   My name is Frank Baldwin, and I live in Olathe, KS, and operate my taxidermy shop, ART FROM THE WILDSIDE TAXIDERMY there.  For those of you who might  be unfamiliar, Olathe, KS is basically a suburb of Kansas City, and as such is a “border town”, so even though we are located in Kansas, we certainly do value our Missouri customers.  For that matter, given that our costs are extremely competitive,  we can  most assuredly offset the small additional cost of shipping, particularly on the smaller mounts, and we welcome business from anywhere.  Certainly, even with the ever-increasing fuel costs, a short drive makes us convenient to customers in Kansas City KS & MO; Lawrence, KS; Topeka, KS; Independence, MO;  St. Joseph, MO and beyond.  Given the varied interests of a diverse spectrum of  customers, we take in fish, birds, deer, and mammals other than deer, but we are not limited to those species.  If you have a specimen you wish to preserve, please give us a shot at it.

One distinct advantage that I can offer is relatively quick turn around times for your trophies.  I have made the decision to equip my shop with a pressure tanner and commercial flesher, so as to be able to avoid the additional time delays of sending capes out to be tanned and fleshed, and then waiting for one of the commercial tanneries  to get to them.  I feel that being in control of that time frame will more than offset the additional equipment costs, and will allow me to offer my customers a faster return of their mounts.  Being in control of that part of the taxidermy process also allows me to be as meticulous as I wish with that work, and I can assure you that with regards final fleshing, turning the ears, lips, eyelids, etc.,  I do tend to be meticulous to a fault.  I treat each specimen as if it was mine and going on my wall.  The Second Place, Amateur Division that was awarded the large non-typical whitetail on this page is representative of my classroom work.  Incidentally, I harvested that deer late in the 2004 season, so it is my personal trophy as well as a beautiful specimen.  Naturally, turn around times are ultimately a matter of the time of year, my work load, etc, but I do give each customer my best, and will always be honest with estimated turn around times.

One of the aspects of taxidermy I find most appealing is that it allows me to capture the natural beauty of the specimen, and to preserve that beauty.  I truly do consider taxidermy an art form, and feel privileged to have the opportunity to practice it, hence the name of my company.  I do hope that you will consider us for your taxidermy needs, and that you will enjoy success in all the coming seasons.  Get out there and “Whack ‘Em & Stack ‘Em” and Let Me Preserve the Beauty of 'Em For You!

Thank You & Be Well,

Frank
